Mapout·guides is an idea by Aritz González. Years ago, I started documenting architecture, primarily Spanish architecture, on my Instagram profile @mapout.studio. Over time, the volume of information and archives grew to a point where another platform was necessary to make the information accessible and organized. In parallel, the number of people consulting us for help in planning their trips to Spain has increased.

The combination of these two needs gave birth to MAPOUT·GUIDES.

02What It Is:

Mapout·guides is architecture

MAPOUT GUIDES are curated guides to architecture. We have reimagined the concept of a guide, utilizing all the resources of our time to develop an unprecedented product that facilitates the understanding (and study) of architecture for all audiences.

It is based on the use of Google Maps. We develop map guides primarily in three levels (light walks, architects in a city, and monographs) where architectural works are located. Each work has a profile that links to available online information about it (guides, original publications, architect archives, theses, videos). Click here to see a sample.

03How It Works:

Based on Google maps

To access the paid or subscription maps, you need to have a Gmail account (Google) and use the Google Chrome browser on both fixed and mobile devices. You can create a Gmail account by following this link: click here.

Once you make the payment, you will receive instructions and a link to access the private section of the website in your email. To grant you access to the maps, we manually register your email in the system. The maximum waiting time is 12 hours. (*) If you need immediate access, please confirm with us if we are online. The website is conceived as an archive of plans/guides and documentation. It is a living archive that will continue to grow with the support of subscribers.
